Heartland Game Birds is situated in central Kansas — one of North America's most productive upland bird regions and within easy driving distance of major Midwest population centers including Wichita, Kansas City, Omaha, and Oklahoma City.
The central location means less travel stress and more time afield. Many guests drive in the evening before opening day and are in the field by first light.

Omaha, NE – Approximately 3 hours
Oklahoma City, OK – Approximately 5 hours

A guided pheasant hunt at Heartland Gamebirds includes experienced guides, access to well-managed hunting fields, trained bird dogs, and a memorable Kansas upland hunting experience. Depending on the package you choose, hunts may also include bird cleaning, lodging, and meals. We recommend reviewing your specific hunt package or contacting us for complete details before your trip.
The cost of a guided pheasant hunt depends on the length of your hunt, the number of hunters in your group, and whether lodging or meals are included. At Heartland Gamebirds, we offer flexible hunting packages designed for individuals, families, and corporate groups. Contact us for current pricing and available dates.
For a safe and comfortable pheasant hunting experience, wear durable outdoor clothing appropriate for the Kansas weather. Waterproof hunting boots, blaze orange outerwear, brush-resistant pants, gloves, and layered clothing are recommended. During colder months, dressing in layers helps you stay comfortable throughout the day.
Hunters should bring a valid Kansas hunting license, shotgun, ammunition, blaze orange clothing, comfortable hunting boots, eye and ear protection, and weather-appropriate clothing. Don't forget water, snacks, and any personal items you'll need for a full day in the field. If you have questions about equipment, we're happy to help before your hunt.
No. Heartland Gamebirds provides experienced guides with professionally trained hunting dogs that know our hunting grounds and work hard to locate and retrieve birds. If you have your own well-trained bird dog, contact us before your hunt to discuss whether bringing your dog is a good fit.
